Oh my gosh, I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted anything! We are finally getting finished with one of my favorite times of year (Christmahannukabirthday), which also happens to be one of the busiest times of the year for many (if not most) people. This past month has been full of parties, celebration, crafts, errands, travels...and so much more! I just got back from visiting my cousin Hannah's new baby boy - he is so beautiful, and I am so thankful I got to meet him. I just wish Michigan weren't so far from Boulder now!
Now even though we're through that crazy time of year, I still feel like I'm going at full speed! I ran a bajillion errands yesterday, and I still have a massive to-do list. The main holidays may be over, but next I need to figure out Valentine's Day. You might think that sounds silly, but ten years ago on Valentine's Day, a wonderful boy left a Valentine in my locker, so I can't just let this one slip by. Ten years is a huge milestone, and I can't wait to celebrate with my guy! And then a couple weeks after V. Day is Nathaniel's birthday! And after that, I know something will keep me busy, like always ;)
I've never been a huge one for "New Year's Resolutions" because people seem to make gigantic, sweeping statements that really just set you up for failure. That's why I started my fitness routine when something just clicked in my brain - I wasn't about to wait months and months for January 1. However, I do feel this need in my life to propel forward - maybe the time of year has something to do with it, but that's not why I want to.
I'm 27. Still young, but old enough to consider big life-changing events. So instead of New Year's Resolutions, I'm going to write down some life goals:
- Stay strong with my fitness journey - never stop taking care of myself.
- If you're not using something, donate it or throw it out! De-clutter my life!
- Make time for music and crafting every week - If that means writing down a block of time on the calendar, then so be it!
- Budget - Don't be a Scrooge, but consider each purchase - is this an impulse or something that is enriching our lives?
Cheers to the New Year - I hope yours are already off to a great start.
